Important Dates – nZEB
As nZEB regulations come into force, it is important to be aware of the key dates that could affect your building. We have laid out the important dates for both residential and non-residential buildings below.
Residential:
1st April 2019:
Part L of the building regulations for dwellings comes into force meaning all dwellings receiving planning permission after this date must be nZEB compliant.
1st April 2020:
Unless substantial completion of a dwellings has been achieved, all new builds must be nZEB compliant.
Non-Residential
1st January 2019:
Part L of the nZEB regulations for non-residential buildings came into force on the 1st of January 2019 meaning all buildings receiving planning permission after this date, including public sector buildings, must be nZEB compliant.
Furthermore, unless non-residential/public sector buildings are substantially completed they must comply with nZEB regulations.
31st December 2020
All buildings, residential and non-residential, must be nZEB compliant after this date.
