Project Overview
This client was building on an elevated site overlooking the coast, next door to her daughter who had just completed a Thermohouse low energy building construction. Being very impressed by the fabric of the structure of her daughter’s home and the living environment it provided within she decided that she was definitely going with the same construction method.
This design with a total floor area of approx. 210m2 was for a two-storey build incorporating the living and sleeping areas, with a single storey kitchen/dining area to the front of the building with a glass gable wall taking full advantage of the coastal view.
This design boasted a vaulted barrel roof design on both levels that was easily achieved using the Thermoroof passive roofing panels.
Thermohouse were contracted to supply, all external walls, internal loadbearing walls, Thermofloor panels to the concrete intermediate floor of the two-storey section and the Thermoroof passive roofing panels to form the curved roofs.
